Beard waves are a hairstyle created by training the facial hair to grow in a ripple-like, wavy pattern, often in a 360-degree circular motion. This style is the beard equivalent of the "waves" hairstyle commonly worn by Black men and women on their heads. It requires consistent brushing, moisturizing, and conditioning to train the hair to lay flat in the desired pattern.

Definition of a maven?
A maven is a trusted expert, connoisseur, or knowledgeable person in a specific field, that loves to SHARE knowledge with others!
Groom for length
To develop a distinct wave pattern, the beard hair must be long enough to curl or ripple, but not so long that it becomes unruly. A medium length is generally best for starting the process.
Consistent brushing
The most critical step is regularly and meticulously brushing the beard in the direction of the desired wave pattern. The goal is to force the hair to conform to the new pattern as it grows.
Using products
To help set the wave pattern and keep the beard moisturized, products like beard oils, balms, or butters are used. They provide hold and prevent the beard from drying out.
"Wolfing"
In the same way that head hair is "wolfed" (let to grow out) for waves, the beard is brushed and grown out for a period of time.
Cutting
Afterward, it is cut shorter and blended to make the wave pattern more pronounced. Lining up the edges is typically done in the final stages to avoid cutting off the wave pattern at the edges.
Covering the beard
Some people use a durag or wave cap for their beard, especially while sleeping. This helps to train the hair to lie flat and maintains the wave pattern.
